What's the big deal with girls having to have feminine names?
Your daughter is a girl. You need to accept that and give her a girls name. By not doing that you are basically saying I wish I had a boy. A feminine name doesn't make you delicate. Plus think of all of the trouble she will have her whole life. People will assume she is a man when they see her name. There will be mixups, constant explaining from the question (is that really your name) and potentially dangerous ones in a hospital setting. I've seen it happen. If you want her to be taken seriously as an adult, give her a feminine name that can have a unisex nickname. Samantha/Sam, Alexandra/Alex, Charlotte/Charlie, etc. Do the kid a favor and make her life easier.
