Would Southwest Airlines let me bring a skateboard in my carry on?

I'm going to Texas tomorrow :D I'm so excited. But I'm planning on buying a new board out there (Mystery I <3 boobies board) and I don't know if they'll let me take it back. I already have like a backpack for my laptop. And the board would fit in but it would stick out like halt way. You know? I just want to know if I can do that or if I should wait until I come home to buy it. If no one know's all ask the flight attendant XD
