What would I call the style of 1800's American South?

So you know how fashion & home decoration in Britain under the reign of Queen Victoria is called "Victorian"? What would the style of 1800's American South (Alabama, Louisiana, Georgia, etc.) be called? Like when people owned slaves and big plantations? Like "Southern Belle" girly, frilly style, but another name?
