Packing list for a year abroad?

I am going to spend a year abroad on the southwest coast of Finland starting in August. I know all the basic and obvious stuff that I will have to bring like computer and warm clothes, but I was wondering if there were any other things that were not always thought of that I should bring. I will be staying with host families so I don't need to worry about stuff like accommodations.
