Is there a way to ban sexist clothing? Or is a boycott the best method?

Clothing that is too associated with a certain sex is sexist. Such as skirts and frilly dresses for women, as well as high heels and in the extreme example, french maid costumes. As long as women still wear clothes made for "women" we will continue to be oppressed and objectified by men. Do you agree that legislation is probably not the answer and the best methodology would be for women to reject sexist clothing wholesale?
