Can somebody help me find out the gun laws in new york state?

i want to know where i can go to find out about new york state gun laws are i live in southwest new york if that help but i want to know about what kinds of guns are legal or illegal and parts for the guns as well and stuff like that and if i can legally carry firearms in this area any help will be much appreciated and i might go to the local police station to get some information
