How to be a preppy girl?

i'm 12 and going into jr high in th fall and i wanna go for less of a frilly, girly look and more of a preppy, classic look. what brands do i wear? what kinds of tops, bottoms, shoes, accessories? music? hair and makeup? help! thnx!
